Hotel Lobby Project

I started this design with an initial concept of a modern space, but with a linear feel. I started with a space plan and tried to determine the best use of space for the lobby area, but yet an area that could consume the linear design pattern around the walls. The furniture was placed strategically to provide areas for groups to converse but yet accommodate just a few people, so several groups could utilize the space.
The use of natural light and linear forms provides the space with an uplifting atmosphere. I iterated on the design of the wall, trying to depict the exact pattern that left surprising flips of the wooden pieces. Using the wood pieces, provided with a warm, comfortable, and relaxing feeling for this contemporary design.
